SneakerScan provides a website, iOS app, and API services that help users scan Nike shoe box labels, look up market information, build stock lists, and export stock data.

Depending on how you use SneakerScan, we may process:

• Scan and search information, such as style codes, model names, sizes, colourways, and search terms sent by the app to return market and product information.
• Stock-list and export information that you create in the app. Some of this may remain on your device unless you choose to export or share it.
• Technical information, such as IP address, user agent, request timestamps, API route, response status, and diagnostic logs.
• Website analytics, such as page views, referrers, country, browser, device type, and operating system.
• Communications you send to us, including your email address and the contents of support messages.

We use information to:

• provide scan, search, colourway, stock-list, and export features;
• return eBay market results and product information;
• deduce colourways from style codes and related model context;
• cache common colourway lookups and reduce repeated API calls;
• protect the API from abuse, fraud, and excessive request volume;
• debug errors, maintain security, and improve reliability;
• understand website traffic and improve the website; and
• respond to support requests and legal obligations.

Where UK GDPR or similar privacy law applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

• Contract, where processing is needed to provide app and API features you request.
• Legitimate interests, where processing is needed to secure, maintain, debug, and improve SneakerScan.
• Consent, where law requires consent for a specific optional feature or communication.
• Legal obligation, where we must retain or disclose information to comply with law.

SneakerScan depends on carefully selected third-party services. These services may process data as part of providing the app:

• Vercel hosts the website and API and provides web analytics.
• Upstash Redis or Vercel KV stores shared colourway cache data.
• eBay APIs provide marketplace search results.
• Brave Search APIs help look up colourway evidence.
• Apple may process App Store downloads, updates, and purchases.

These services may process information in countries outside the UK or EEA. Where required, transfers are handled using safeguards such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or equivalent measures.

The website uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns. Vercel Web Analytics is designed to work without third-party cookies and provides aggregated statistics rather than cross-site user tracking.

We use this data to understand which pages are useful, diagnose performance issues, and improve the website.

We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected, including providing the service, security, debugging, legal compliance, and dispute handling.

Shared colourway mappings may be retained while they remain useful because they do not need to identify a user. Failed colourway lookups may be cached for a limited period to reduce repeated searches. Support emails are kept for as long as needed to respond and maintain a record of the request.

You can choose what to scan, what to export, and whether to contact us. You can delete local app data by removing the app or using any deletion controls made available in the app.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal data. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

SneakerScan is not intended for children. Do not use SneakerScan if you are under 13, or under the age required to use online services in your country without parental consent.

We may update this policy as SneakerScan changes. If a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to make the updated policy available before or when it takes effect.
